Threadless has grown from a tiny little start-up company to a massive t-shirt design company in a relatively short period. They started way back in 2000 in Chicago by founders skinnyCorp. Jake and Jacob, the partners involved, started Threadless with just $1,000 in seed money. How did such a small investment yield such huge results? The answer is an innovative concept in the t-shirt design competition.

As ironing is a lengthy process and most people like to avoid it, are wrinkle free pants and a T-shirt of their response to iron.

If you aren’t a Project Runway fan then the name Mondo Guerra probably means very little to you, but, this is one designer to watch in the future. Mondo was a contestant on Project Runway’s Season 8, and, he was a finalist in the show, and, in spite of losing the contest on Project Runway, his career is taking off.
The site is straight-forward in letting its intent known; to get your cash. Of course you’d probably get a shirt you like and look good in it at the same time, but your mileage may vary. Purchasing a shirt is easy enough. The standard “create an account” is ever-present. When you choose a shirt to purchase you are given a choice of colors, if available, after which the usual dance of credit card or PayPal options to make payments.
Where is the best place to promote your business? In your own shop of course. Create some printed display materials and place these prominently in your shop or office. A standee right by the entrance is a great way to tell your customers about your new offers.
Transfer printing requires you to print your design onto special paper, then just iron it directly onto your soon to be retro t shirt. Screen Printing however, requires a bit more work. You need to print your design onto special ‘film’ or ‘transfer paper’ then following a series of screen transfer processes you prepare your screen with your design, burn out the design with a lamp, then spread your special acrylic paint onto your t-shirt through your burned out stencil. Best to watch a YouTube video on how to do this first, but the results are worth the effort. Given a little, you will soon have a selection of funny t shirts to choose from.
